Political advertising smashed third quarter records, helping the company formerly known as Gannett enjoy a 53% net income gain from Q3 2023 as net revenue improved by 13%. But, what does Q4 portend for TEGNA?

The nation's largest audio content creator and distributor saw its net revenue jump over the $1 billion mark. But, expenses were up, and this contributed to a much wider net loss in Q3. At the same time, lenders have signed off on a debt maturities extension, giving iHeartMedia three additional years to deal with its high leverage.

How did Townsquare Media perform on a year-over-year basis? The company surpassed the Street's earnings per share estimate but was narrowly short on revenue. On a sequential basis, all three revenue generation units saw growth, and that was a highlight CEO Bill Wilson shared ahead of an earnings call scheduled opposite Nexstar Media Group.

For Michael Christenson, Chief Executive Officer at Entravision, Q3 was one of structural change for the company. A realignment of its business saw the creation of two segments: Media and Advertising Technology & Services. The media segment consists of sales of ads through various media, including TV, radio and digital. How did that segment perform in Q3?

As the company sees it, "solid third quarter results" were seen. As Wall Street sees it, revenue expectations were indeed met. It's just the Q4 forecast from Sinclair Inc. that "underwhelmed" analysts.

It turns out that Urban One made a mistake, and didn't mean to have its earnings come out on November 7 after all. Instead, the media company super-serving African American consumers will release its Q3 fiscal report card on Tuesday.

Here's the good news for investors in Xperi Corp., the parent of HD Radio, as well as the acclaimed DTS AutoStage product and TiVo products for television: Q3 revenue increased to $132.9 million, from $130.4 million. That did much to narrow the company's quarterly net loss. And, on a non-GAAP basis, big improvements were seen.

A 2016 communiqué to the incoming Trump Administration from the MMTC suggested the creation of a “Glide Path” for AM radio station owners that preserves minority ownership following AM's end.
