Welcome to the latest carriage fee impact to arise for a broadcast television company, adding to a long string of impasses resulting in "blackouts," by law, of some of a cable TV service provider's most-watched channels.  This one involves the hub of New England and the pride of the three rivers.

The provider of professional media products for broadcast and digital video is welcoming a Silicon Valley executive to its Board of Directors. "A highly accomplished executive with a track record of leadership across technology, venture capital, and corporate governance," his expertise will play a key role at Bitcentral.

He's the face behind Venture Technologies Group and has been an active player in the low-power television business. Now, he has agreed to purchase a low-power Class A facility in The Dalles, Oregon.

It's a deal consummated on October 31 but not filed for FCC regulatory approval until now. And, it sees one of the biggest names in South Asian-focused media in the U.S. agree to purchase 22 low power television stations in various markets across the nation.

Prolific low-power television station trader Jeff Winemiller is purchasing another facility. This time, he's set his eyes on Macon, Ga., thanks to a deal with another familiar face in LPTV circles.
