REC statement on North Miami Hispanic Community Radio and South Miami Hispanic Community Radio

"REC's position on the status of North Miami Hispanic Community Radio and South Miami Hispanic Community Radio has not changed. 

In January 2016, REC filed a supplement to the original Cesar Guel informal objection based on subsequent filing activity under the North Miami and South Miami applications.  Our investigation has found the potential of an unauthorized transfer of control of both applications to Ministerio Internacional Yo Soy, Inc.

FCC ENFORCEMENT ADVISORY: Barix Password Precautions

The FCC Enforcement Bureau has reached out to REC and other organizations to reach as many broadcasters as possible addressing the recent incidents of compromises of the Barix Extreamer equipment commonly used as a studio-to-transmitter link.  The Enforcement Bureau's statement follows:

FCC releases preliminary decision on AM revitalization

In an unprecedented move which appears to now be new policy, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai released the circulation version of the Second Report and Order on the Revitalization of the AM Radio Service.

REC issue status report

Now that we are about a month in 2017, I have been answering many questions about AM Revitalization, the next FM translator window, LP-250 and the ongoing inquires about starting a new LPFM station.

Statement of REC Networks: Ajit Pai to be FCC Chairman

While Ajit Pai has been a major opponent of pro-consumer initatives such as network neutrality and has been a staunch supporter of the mega-mergers, he has been the first Commissioner in awhile to champion radio issues such as AM Revitalization and support for the proposed C4 service class.  While we will continue to oppose Pai on telecom related issues such as his opposition to net neutrality, we hope that he can see the value that LPFM stations provide to listeners on both sides of the aisle.
