Nexstar Media Group CFO Lee Ann Gliha will be representing the company she works for at an institutional investor affair on May 14 in Boston, and again on June 5 in a venue familiar with Forecast conference attendees.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has awarded the latest in a series of grants to prioritize local reporting, with a big grant being given to the Appalachia + Mid-South Newsroom (AMSN).

The two television stations owned by Nexstar Media Group serving Erie, Pa., now have a new VP and General Manager. He arrives at the stations after 7 1/2 years at Sinclair Inc., working in Oklahoma.

As RBR+TVBR first reported on January 16, Patricia and Brian Lane successfully struck a deal for their company to purchase a quartet of TV stations in two small West Coast markets from Imagicomm Communications. That transaction, which saw Kalil & Co. serve as the strategic advisor, has now closed.

That's the message being shared on May 1 by Nielsen as it debuted "The Ad Supported Gauge," a new quarterly report offering a comprehensive look at the segment of television that delivers advertising across broadcast, cable and streaming.

A proposal that many radio broadcast station owners disapprove of appeared to advance out of the Senate Commerce Committee during its Wednesday session and move on to a floor vote by the full Senate. But, that piece of legislation particularly disliked by AM radio station owners, is on hold thanks to a technicality.

In a move that differentiates the organization from many of the nation's largest radio broadcasting companies and the NAB, the leading advocacy group representing Black-owned station owners has asked the FCC not to weaken the rules establishing "subcaps" for both AM and FM radio in the U.S.
