On this day, 30 years ago, a phone line, 818-882-6328 was connected using a conventional telephone answering machine with a special 6 minute loop casette tape. The phone line called California Comments was the latest addition to the flourishing Southern California telephone "commentline" scene at the time along with other lines like Observatory, Telephun, DBS, Feedback and The Movie Line.
30 years later, REC is still strong with our advocacy of the Low Power FM radio service, professional engineering and application preparation services and entertainment from J1 Radio. We are still entertaining, informing and supporting.
REC will continue to support LPFM stations and the citizens' right to access the public airwaves using any legal means possible.
REC thanks you for your ongoing support over the past 30 years and we hope you continue to support the effort in the future. REC plans to be there. Maybe not for another 30 years, but for now, let's shoot for 10 more years.
