Changelog
FCCtoday date related enhancements / FCCdata realtime modify license display
Due to enhancements in the REC LMS Realtime system:
If the previous weekday was a federal holiday, the previous weekday will move one day further back. This will not work on FCC "snow days" (days that the Office of Personnel Management excuse DC area federal employees due to snow or other inclement weather).
On weekends, the current day will advance to Monday. If Monday is a federal holiday, the system date will advance to Tuesday. Like CDBS, applications filed in LMS over the weekend will show a Monday filing date.
FCCdata LMS contour maps for FM
10/23/2019 10:20PM ET.
At this time, we are working some issues on LMS maps for FM from a couple of different angles.
From the FCC end, we are seeing facility records, mainly full-service that have bad values for radiation center above mean sea level (RCAMSL). This data is critical for making contour maps. If the FCC fixes these manually, they may not reflect on our maps. Unlike CDBS, we do not receive a flat file with all of the contours as determined by the FCC.
FCCtoday yesterday's filings + bug fix
FCCtoday will now display LMS applications that were filed on the previous day. This is similar to the functionality that always existed for CDBS.
FCCtoday should display a red asterisk after a LMS file number in the applications section when the application was filed that day and picked up by REC LMS RealTime.
On Mondays, FCCtoday should also display Friday's applications.
Previous day's actions will not be displayed.

FCCdata LMS realtime - temporary engineering records
New background processes have been installed that will parse certain FM applications filed in LMS. The new functionality will look for FM modification and license to cover applications that were just filed and then will access the application in LMS and parse the data to create a temporary engineering record.
This temporary engineering record will be displayed in the engineering section (left side) of FCCdata and will show most of the basic information collected about the facility.
FCC.today: Links to LMS applications just filed.
FCC.today is now providing links to the LMS applications that were filed during the business day. Click on the file number to obtain the PDF version of the application.
** FCC LMS Issues List ** updated 08/09/2023
The following list are various bugs and other issues of the FCC's Licesnsing Management System that we are aware of at REC. These issues have been already reported to staff.
LPFM HAAT/ERP calculations
LMS is not properly calculating height above average terrain on LPFM applications. This is resulting in LPFM stations with higher HAATs being "short changed" on their power.
Recommended workaround is to make a screen shot of the FCC HAAT tool and FMPOWER results in order to justify the ERP that is appropriate for the application.
FCC.today - real time LMS update fix
A fix was made in our internal LMS-BOT system resulting in FCC.today to display more than 100 transactions in a day.
myLPFM, NCE Search and PREMIS now LMS READY
Made appropriate enhancements to myLPFM v2,NCE Search and PREMIS in order to support LMS engineering records.
No changes to the user interfaces.
Psuedo LMS application IDs, U/D Calculator LMS READY
10/08/2019
Traditionally, CDBS provided an application ID that was an integer that uniquely described each application filed. This was up to a 7 digit number. With LMS, the application ID is a long hexidecimal string. In order to facilitate ease of use for systems that are internal to REC as well as external (such the U/D calculator), all LMS application records will receive a 7 digit psuedo application ID starting at 5,000,000. A table is built that will cross reference betewen the psuedo application ID and the LMS (hex) application ID.

NOT LMS READY: LPFM Scoreboard (click for details)
9/29/2019 While NOT LMS READY, there is no engineering data for applications filed through LMS for FM radio on or after September 25, 2019. This means that applications filed through LMS will not reflecting in these systems thus resulting in false positive search results or incorrect counts. Development is continuing and we hope to have full LMS deployment by the middle of October. Thank you for your understanding.
10/08/2019 - UD Calculator now LMS READY.
10/10/2019 - myLPFM v. 2 now LMS READY
10/10/2019 - NCE Search is now LMS READY
LMS for FM: Release notes 9/29/2019
Due to the FCC's conversion of all new applications for FM broadcast licenses and modifications from CDBS to LMS, REC is in the process of updating external systems (such as FCCtoday.org) and internal programs and database tables to accommodate the new FCC process. This is an ongoing effort as we can't develop without sample data. Fortunately, there is already a small number of applications for FM, FM translator and LPFM stations already filed.
