This open letter is for individuals and companies that are in the business of developing software applications used in the processing of FM broadcast construction permit applications.

In an Order on Reconsideration, the FCC has upheld all of the decisions made in their 2020 Report and Order in MB Docket 19-193.  The 19-193 decision made several changes to the LPFM rules, including:

On June 14, 2021, RadioWorld published an article with the headline "FCC Seems To Affirm 100-Watt LPFM Limit".  The article suggested that despite the fact that the FCC had brought REC's Simple250 proposal to Public Notice that the suggestion that Acting Chairwoman Janet Rosenworcel's comments in her personal blog that the upcoming action on the Order on Reconsideration bringing "finality to the rules" would render Simple250 "dead in the water".

With the recent public notice by the FCC, placing the latest REC LP-250 Petition for Rulemaking, “Simple250” to public comment as RM-11909, there has been an increased excitement within the community of the prospect that someday, many LPFM stations would be able to increase to 250 watts ERP (or its >30 meter HAAT equivalent).

The FCC has released a circulation draft of an Order on Reconsideration in MB Docket 19-193 to address two Petitions for Reconsideration that were filed following the FCC’s decision in last year's  LPFM Technical NPRM.  This item will be on the agenda for the FCC's June Open Meeting, but will likely be voted on just
