On the heels of a deal that will see Connoisseur Media sell a group of Bakersfield, Calif., radio stations, the rapidly evolving — and growing — radio station ownership group led by Jeff Warshaw has struck a deal that sees it exiting a small market in mid-America.

NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting are each claiming victory, as the two noncommercial secular-focused entities have reached a settlement that resolves months of litigation over control of public radio’s interconnection funding and the future of its satellite distribution network.

A Councilman for the City of the New York has signaled that he intends to introduce legislation requiring AM radio receivers in all city-owned and city-contracted vehicles — a signal that kHz-band broadcast stations remain essential in North America's biggest municipality.

He had been associated with a Mayfield, Ky., AM radio station since 1976 and orchestrated its "revitalization" by adding an FM translator to the mix. On July 27, he passed away at the age of 72. Now, the future of his radio assets is becoming clearer.
