FCCdata: 

US/FCC - Installed fix in fccdata that prevented new FM facilities (such as boosters, Auction 109 and eventually NCE Window) from displaying on dialscape. 

US/FCC - Installed some basic functionality on TV records to support ATSC3.  ATSC3 license modification records will now show that a station is broadcasting in ATSC3 either on that facility or as a simulcast on another facility.  Dialscape now shows whether a station has ATSC3 (either on that specific facility or as a simulcast on another facility).

Fixed issue in eLMS ALTC parser where phone numbers for parties to the application were not being parsed correctly. 

Reparsing all LMS ALTC applications to correct.

Added support for new broadcast incubator question on ALTC applications. 

New field: altc_details/t_incubator  varchar(1);

Fixed a query to LMS tables in ALTC to look up country names.

 

Fixed retriever for antenna structure registration numbers, ship and coast stations (in order to list maritime reserved call signs) due to previous FCC URL change.

Adding eLMS support for the 2021 NCE Filing Window.  

Built new parser for new FCC New NCE FM CP application form display layout.

Added new database fields to legal and point_system eLMS tables.  Updated schema.

Added new application types "CPE" (New NCE FM CP) and "CPEA" (New NCE FM CP Amendment).  These new application types will drive the retrieval of the New NCE application form (as opposed to the regular FM CP) in LMS.

Ticket opened - Original CP Long Form applications in Auction 109 are not being parsed correctly.  Channel number is not being picked up causing station data and contour maps to display incorrectly.  ETU expected by later today.

ISSUE

fixed a bug in FCCdata in the broadcast data header that was not displaying licensee name when the licensee is an individual and the name uses the first, middle and last name fields in the LMS raw data.

Since Thursday, August 5, 2021, the FCC has had issues with the LMS system causing problems with being able to access applications and filing.  Application filing attempts are logging out users and application retrievals are receiving 502 bad gateway errors.  

FCC staff is aware of this issue and has referred to their contractors to resolve.

Database update for Mexico.  We are aware of some missing facilities.  We will look into those.

Manual update to Japan FM broadcast data.

 

On weekends, FCC.today now shows FCC actions from previous week.  Actions will not appear until after the LMS Saturday raw data update completes.  CDBS weekend action summary runs earlier in the day. On Saturday mornings, seeing only CDBS actions in FCC.today is normal expected behavior.

FCCdata is not properly displaying in mobile.  Turned off mobile optimized pages for now.  We will do a project to bring mobile services back.

07/12/21 0953 : Bug cleared.  Related to previous on screen notification of July major maintenance. 

 

The objective in this maintenance is to optimize the database by partitioning more unreleated elements and combining those that should be related.

We have completed a transition of the UK and Ireland broadcast data into a separate database.

We have migrated the International Bureau Filing System (IBFS) data into its own separate database.

We have migrated eLMS, CDBS and LMS into their own separate databases.

Completed a process of retrieving 1,924 FM engineering records showing as active but without a full eLMS record.  This will bring those contour maps into eLMS which should hopefully speed things slightly on FCCdata.

Links to mobile apps in LPFM.us

With this update, LPFM.us, the national LPFM directory now supports the linking of station listings to the station's official mobile apps in Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Listings in LPFM.us will show with the Android and Apple logos.  Clicking those links on the listing will take the user to the mobile app.

Links to the app stores will also appear on the station detail screen in LPFM.us.

The FCC's Contours API (geo.fcc.gov) has been unreliable since last Friday.  Within REC, this has resulted in slow responses in FCCdata and has also caused eLMS to not properly get contour map data.  

On the FCC side, this has caused problems with getting contour maps on their Online Public Inspection File system.

We have no ETU from the FCC. 

This is an FCC related issue and is outside of the control of REC.
