This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of west central Missouri, including the following counties, Cass, Jackson, Lafayette and Ray. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 553 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Several roads remain closed in the Pleasant Hill area, and residual street flooding continues in portions of Jackson County. Flooding will likely continue through the evening. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Independence, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Pleasant Hill, Oak Grove, Greenwood, Buckner, Lake Lotawana, Lake Winnebago, Lone Jack, Orrick, Lake Tapawingo, Sibley, Baldwin Park, Levasy, Napoleon, Bates City, Camden and Strasburg. - This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 18 and 31. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
