This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Major lowland flooding begins with massive inundation of the flood plain as the river is close to 2 miles wide and OSR become inundated one half mile on the right bank and 1.5 miles on the left bank. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 AM CDT Thursday was 16.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.0 feet Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.7 feet on 05/01/2009. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
