This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Periods of moderate to heavy rain over the past 24 hours have saturated the hillsides around Kodiak. Some landslides have already been reported. Additional rainfall of 2-3 inches is possible through early Saturday. Movement of saturated soils and areas of overburden are possible as rainfall continues in the area. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The following area, Kodiak Island. This includes the city of Kodiak City. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Periods of moderate to excessive rainfall has resulted in saturated soils across the watch area and may cause possible landslides in areas of steep terrain. Small streams and rivers could see considerable rises and some flooding is also possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A large area of moisture will continue to move into Kodiak Island over the next 48 hours. An additional 2-3 inches of rainfall is possible in the watch area through Saturday morning. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - Stay away from steep barren hillsides due to the landslide danger.
