You will need to inquire locally with state authorities through your state Office of Emergency Services or local law enforcement. Your state’s broadcaster association may also be a resource.
Several states have passed or are considering new laws recognizing “first informers” who will need “passage” in order to access their equipment:
- Arizona
- Colorado
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Missouri
- Oklahoma
- Virginia
- Washington (state)
- West Virginia
There may also be resources from FEMA to assist stations needing access during the emergency. Please contact REC for assistance.
