REC starts adding more lines for conference. In the Spring, we break for the 4th Annual ARTE Awards. Calcom wins Best Comment Line this year. This was the last ARTE presentation. Legendary traffic reporter Bruce Wayne was killed in a plane crash in Fullerton. REC ran a memorial recording. This year, REC also ran a tribute recording to the space program submitted by caller Larry (New Jersey) Inglewood. In August, Calcom came back up with Tape #100 and a new name, REC 407. In the fall, a new voice is heard on REC tapes, Bo Zipkin aka The Dude from Calabasas.
