FCC taking comments on REC's "Simple 250" LPFM Class of Service

The FCC has announced today by Public Notice that REC's latest 250-watt LPFM service Petition for Rulemaking has been assigned RM-11909.

REC files Reply Comments opposing exceptions to NCE application caps while calling for more transparency at the FCC.

On Monday, REC Networks has filed Reply Comments in two FCC proceedings.

In MB Docket 20-343, REC opposed a suggestion by Educational Media Foundation (EMF), the largest licensee of noncommercial educational (NCE) FM broadcast stations operating under the K-Love and Air1 brands, that called for the ability to file unlimited applications outside of the urban markets as long as those proposals do not face any competing applications.

19-310: In support of diversity and listener choice, REC & Music Industry team up to fight FM duplication rule repeal

REC Networks, along with the musicFIRST Coalition and the Future of Music Coalition have filed a Petition for Reconsideration on the Report and Order in the Broadcast Duplication proceeding, MB Docket 19-310, which was a part of Chairman Pai’s Media Modernization Initiative.

20-270: REC voices opposition to some ham fees, supports new fees for FM translators, auctions

REC Networks has filed Comments with the Federal Communications Commission in MD Docket 20-270.  This FCC proceeding implements a portion of the 2018 RAY BAUM’S Act as it relates to the change in the structure of FCC application fees from a codified schedule to a cost-based method, similar to how regulatory fees are charged.
